From phone footage to a post-ready short
Here is exactly what happens between “Upload” and “Download”. Every step is done by hand at Ruzz — usually within a day, never later than two.
You never open an editor
There is no timeline to learn. You upload, describe what you want in a short form, and review the result in your browser. The editing — cuts, captions, music, thumbnails — is done for you by hand at Ruzz: we watch all of your footage and make every call.

The process, step by step
Upload your raw clips
Your account has a private folder. Drop the footage in (MP4 or MOV, up to 1 GB). The upload resumes by itself if your connection drops. The editing rules for your plan are shown right there, and if you bought a script, it sits in the same place.
Set the brief
Pick the mood (upbeat, moody, calm…), the music style, the caption font and size, and the caption language. We pull the strongest moment you filmed to the front and cut to the length the story needs, up to 60 seconds. US English is the default. Add a reference link if you like a certain style. Save, then hit Submit.
Ruzz takes your order
Orders are taken first-come, first-served. Your order shows “Received”, then “In progress” once work has started. Most edits are back within a day — and never later than two.
The first cut
We remove dead air and stumbles, writes and checks the captions against your business names, moves the hook up front if you asked for it, picks music to match your mood, makes two thumbnails, and exports the video as MP4 in 9:16.
Revisions
Watch the cut and send your notes in one message (“make the caption bigger at the start”, “swap the music for something calmer”). Every product includes one revision round per video; every music option we prepare stays listed under the video until you decide.
Approve and download
Approve the final cut and it is yours. Finished videos stay in My page for 10 days — download them. Raw footage and unused music are deleted after approval; we tell you before you confirm.
Upload rules, explained
Six rules, and the reason behind each one. Follow them and the first cut is usually the final cut.

| Hold your phone upright (vertical) | Reels, TikTok and Shorts are tall videos, like your phone screen. If you film sideways (wide, like a TV), we have to crop the sides off to make it tall, and things at the edges get cut out. We keep faces in frame when we crop, so sideways footage still works — but upright footage looks best and nothing gets lost. |
| Good sound matters more than a good camera | People forgive a plain picture. They do not forgive sound they cannot hear. Stand close to the phone, turn off the music or the TV, and film in a quiet room. Our captions are written from your voice — if the sound is muddy, the captions will have mistakes too. |
| Tell us the names you say | Business names, menu items, product names, your own name — write them in the brief. Unusual names are easy to misspell in captions ("Jose's Birria" is not "Joseph's Barrier"). When we know the right spelling, the captions match it every time. |
| Keep each file under 1 GB | A phone records roughly one minute of 4K video per 350–400 MB, so 1 GB is about 2–3 minutes of 4K or 6–8 minutes of 1080p. That is plenty for a 60-second short. If your raw footage runs much longer than about 20 minutes, we may ask you to point out the clips that matter most before cutting. |

What counts as one revision — and how to get the most from it
One revision round is one message with all your notes in it. Send everything together, and we apply every change in a single pass.
Do this
Watch the whole cut first, then send one list. Timestamps help: “0:04 caption too small”, “0:12 cut this line”, “music: something calmer”, “end card: use the phone number”. As many notes as you like — font, caption size, music, trims, the ending — all in one round.
Send your notes as one bundle and we apply all of them at once and delivers the revised cut in a single pass.
What uses up rounds fast
Sending one note, waiting for the new cut, then sending the next note. Each message is a round, so “make the caption bigger” today and “change the music” tomorrow costs two of your rounds — and adds a day each time. Bundle them and it costs one.
Not a revision: new footage, a different idea, or a different finished length. Those start a new video.
