Compress or Convert?
Compress when the file is too big to upload, email or text. It rebuilds the video, so it takes a few minutes — and it can change the file type at the same time.
Convert when the size is fine but the file will not play or upload — an iPhone .MOV, a .webm, a .mkv. Usually it only changes the container, which takes seconds and loses nothing; an iPhone HEVC file has to be rebuilt, which takes longer.

When a tool is not enough
These fix a file. They do not make a short that people watch to the end — that takes someone choosing the hook, the order of the clips, the captions and the music. That is what Ruzz does: you film on your phone, Ruzz sends back a post-ready vertical short, usually within a day.
Why these are free
They are not lead magnets with a three-file limit. Each one is a piece of the engine we use in our own editing, compiled to WebAssembly so it works inside your browser instead of on a server.
That is also why nothing is capped. Your footage never leaves your laptop, so it costs us nothing when you run a tool a hundred times — no account, no queue, no watermark, no upgrade screen at the end.
We built them because our customers kept getting stuck before the work even started: a file too big to send, an iPhone .MOV nothing would open, a landscape clip that had to be vertical. So we cut those steps out of our pipeline and handed them over.
We intend to be the name people think of in short-form video. Everything we build on the way there that can stand on its own, you get free.
